Before diving fully into writing, he spent two years serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That time shaped him profoundly, teaching him empathy, compassion, and a sense of purpose—elements that consistently find their way into his stories.
One of the best parts of being a writer for Brett is that he doesn’t do it alone. His family plays a huge role in his creative journey—not just as supporters but as active participants. His wife has been a rock, always encouraging him and offering valuable feedback. His son, full of curiosity and wonder, provides endless inspiration, reminding Brett why he loves storytelling. Together, they help him stay motivated and balanced.
Brett is also a co-founder of Seegmiller Publishing, a family venture he started with his two brothers. Their shared passion for storytelling led them to combine forces, supporting each other’s writing dreams and bringing their stories to life on their terms. The self-publishing journey, while daunting, has become a rewarding adventure they’re taking on as a family.
His background as a UX Designer has proven invaluable in both his professional career and his writing projects. Brett designed both his personal website and the site for Seegmiller Publishing, ensuring they are easy to navigate and reflect their creators’ vision. His design skills also extend to book covers. Initially hiring graphic designers, Brett soon realized he could achieve exactly what he envisioned by designing them himself. Combining storytelling with visual design has been a fun challenge, giving him full creative control over how his books look and feel.
